Division The Everyday Math Way

April 1, 2008 · 3 Comments

Division – we all had to do it and still do don’t we? Even in the business world you are in a meeting and you need to do math in your head. Seriously, I’ve attended executive meetings at AT&T, meetings in the brokerage space, and meetings with one of the most powerful people in politics right now and you know what’s not around? Calculators or laptops. Math needs to be done quickly in your head or on a piece of paper.

Now imagine your kids trying to do division this way:

Everyday Math needs to be removed. Our kids will not learn the basics to get through Algebra. It is a horrible mistake and that is backed up by the National Mathematics Advisory Panel.
